Granada is a piano composition by Isaac Albéniz, the opening piece from his 1886 work Suite Española No. 1. It was premiered by the composer on 24 January 1886.

Isaac Manuel Francisco Albéniz y Pascual

(Spanish pronunciation: [iˈsak alˈβeniθ]; 29 May 1860 – 18 May 1909) was a Spanish virtuoso pianistcomposer, and conductor. He is one of the foremost composers of the Post-Romantic era who also had a significant influence on his contemporaries and younger composers. He is best known for his piano works based on Spanish folk music idioms.[1] Isaac Albéniz was close to the Generation of '98. Transcriptions of many of his pieces, such as Asturias (Leyenda)GranadaSevillaCadizCórdoba

CataluñaMallorca, and Tango in D, are important pieces for classical guitar, though he never composed for the guitar. Some of Albéniz's personal papers are held in the Library of Catalonia.

Written for and dedicated to Tárrega's patron Concepción Gómez de Jacoby in 1899, commemorating their visit to the Alhambra palace and fortress complex in Granada, Spain.

Regino Sainz de la Maza was a Spanish Composer, Guitarist, and Professor at Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, Spain.

Asturias lasts for 6 minutes originally written for piano in G minor. Published in Barcelona in 1892 as the prelude of a 3-movement set entitled ¨Chants d'Espagne .
